“ Recently, while visiting the Boise Social Security office, we discovered Chapala Mexican Restaurant on S Vinnell St. We enjoyed having breakfast there. However, we live in Star, so it's a bit of a drive. We were happy to discover that there are other locations, including Nampa. We were shopping at The Marketplace shopping area and decided to this location for lunch. Saturday afternoon around 12:45 and it was not too crowded. We were seated at a booth. Our male server was good. The chips and, especially, the salsa are good, so much so that for the second time, we got a container of salsa to go. We both had the mole enchiladas, rice, and beans. The flavor was good. A little bit of chocolate sweetness, not enough spice. The mole was a little runny, and there was not enough of it, so that by midway through the enchiladas, we were not getting any more mole in our bites. Service and ambiance were great. We'll certainly be back to try something else. ”
“ I like this particular chapalas. We went there again today with three of my kids. The server is always super nice, the host or hostess always takes the time to greet us, welcomes us, and gets us seated promptly even whenthey're busy. The restaurant is always clean and the ambience is nice. Kind of typical Mexican restaurant style. As far as the food goes, by Idaho standards, it is great Mexican food, by Arizona standards maybe not so much. My wife and I usually split the three chili platter, which we did again. It was good. My kids got cheese, enchiladas, a chili Colorado burrito, and chili Verde. There is no food left to take home, so I'm assuming they liked it then again, they could just be typical teenagers.... We will keep going back, it is consistently a good experience ”
“ Great food. Nice clean place Wonderful service. Loved tamales. Good salsa. I recommend ”
“ This is one of our favorite Mexican restaurants in the Treasure Valley. The food quality is consistently excellent and there is a large selection. They make their own tortilla chips along with an outstanding homemade salsa. The venue is festive Mexican and I've noticed that the employees all seem happy to work there. They have a pool service model, not dedicated servers so I suspect that they share tips. Service is usually very good. The only reason I don't give this restaurant five stars is the prices. For a while during these inflationary days they seemed to be competitive but they have recently become expensive. Before Bidenomics, a large bowl of cheese dip cost $4.99, which is now what a small bowl costs. The large bowl is now $9.99. Maybe they are targeting popular sides and appetizers to help the financial squeeze of inflation, I don't know. But entrees have increased significantly as well. I feel sorry for them as they may just be trying to keep their head above water but I feel like they are still about 10-15% higher than competitive prices at other Mexican restaurants. However I REALLY feel sorry for the people who used to eat out and have now been priced out of the market. ”
“ Great place to eat. Customer service was please t and prompt. Bacon wrapped shrimp is my go to dish. Great place to take friends ”
“ Amaaazing food: camarones a la crema and the chicken enchiladas Fast & friendly service too ... will be back ”
“ Not bad! We have been looking for a good Mexican place since we moved here and it's been a journey! When we pulled in, the parking lot was completely full so we expected a long wait, however, This place was actually pretty great in getting us seated in a timely manner, drinks out quick and food out quick even though they were slamming busy! The wait staff were so friendly and on top of keeping our drinks full and our plates picked up after we were finished. Sadly, I am giving this a 4 star because the prices were way higher than expected! I've been to several Mexican restaurants around the country and gotten the same meal for half the price so it was a little shock when the bill came. Some items were not priced on the menu either. Food was good with a fair amount of flavor! We probably won't be back just because of the prices though. But check it out for yourself! Everything else was spot on and really amazing for a busy restaurant!!! ”
“ Slightly less than average Mexican restaurant. Little over priced for Mexican. Instead getting street tacos, I settled for some margaritas and taco salad. Taco salad was soaked. Not much greens either. ”
“ If you're in town and craving some authentic Mexican food, this place is the real deal! From the moment you step in, you see the vibrant atmosphere, friendly staff immediately greet you, make you feel welcome. I don't think I have ever had to wait around for seating! The food is delicious and perhaps the best part are the portion sizes, giant platters and super generous. Trust me, you won't leave hungry! Highly recommend grabbing one of their sweet and tangy margaritas, something I call a celebration in a cup (or a jarrito de barro to be more authentic)! ”
